This is a two-gas tube, meaning that one half has one gas and the other half another gas. The middle section is in the form of two concentric spheres, with the inner sphere connected to one side and the outer sphere connected to the other side. On putting an EHT across the tube, they glow different colours.

The tube is approx 55 cm (1' - 9 7/10") long, and the side arms are approx 3 cm in diameter, with the bulges at the ends being approx 5 cm diameter. The centre outer sphere is approx 7 cm in diameter and the inner one approx 5 cm in diameter.
