Three-stage image intensifiers with electrostatic focusing were used in night rifle sights,
night machine-gun sights and night sights for grenade launchers. They were developed and put into service from 1965-1969.
In this construction, the total gain is the product of the gains of all cameras and can reach 107 times.
It has a multi-alkali photocathode input and the output luminescent screen gives a yellow-green glow.
