395A Cold-Cathode Thyratron

Kaltkathoden-Relaisröhre

Three-element ruggedized double-gap cold-cathode gas-filled tube for use as a relay, relaxation oscillator or voltage regulator. Designed to take mechanical shock (1000-g centrifuge test). Used in mine detection devices ans other government applications.

For use primarily in triggering circuits; suitable for control circuits such as counting or switching apparatus. The 395A will fire directly from a signal supplied by either a vacuum phototube or a cadmium sulphide photocell.

Contains 98% neon and 2% argon.

The 395A and 727A were similar, except that the 727A could not withstand high mechanical shock.
