British military 12W pulse modulator pentode.
The CV2231 was based on the E2266 experimental valve.
It could also be used as a shunt voltage regulator; in this application, the maximum anode voltage is 6 kV. Given the high cathode current of 120 mA and DC voltage of 600 V, this valve could also be used as a series voltage regulator.
