A nimo tube is a miniature 1" CRT with an array of 10 electron guns, each with a digit shaping mask; each one is beamed to the phospor coated screen and displays a green glowing character.

After an IEE's national “Name the Tube” contest, “nimo” was selected from 53 submissions as the winning name as suggested by a Philadelphia, Pa. engineer, Abraham Fuchs. Mr. Fuchs won the grand prize, a 19" G.E. television set!
