U.S. Detector-Dewar DT-594/UA 180-element Thermal Sight
Détecteur-Dewar
Empfaenger Dewar
Opto-electronic device sensitive to radiation in the 7.5 to 12.0 micrometer spectral region, intended for use in infrared systems.
180-element linear parallel-scan HgCdTe (mercury cadmium telluride) photoconductive array mounted on a cold finger operating at approximately 77 K using liquid nitrogen.
Manufacturer: Texas Instruments for the HgCdTe detector, Raytheon for the assembly.
NSN 5855-01-061-6751.
The DT-594 large Common Module was used on the Hughes Night Vision System (HNVS), Advance Attack Helicopter (AAH), LANTIRN aircraft pod programs.
Detector array: 180 elements with detector bias resistors.
Detectivity average: 11 by 10 blackbody.
Power source: +5.0 ± 0.5 V direct current.
Operating temperature: 80 (+5, -20) Kelvin.
Spectral response: 7.7 ± 0.3 to 11.7 ± 0.5 micrometers.

The IR image formed at the focal plane of the system is scanned across the simple linear array of detectors by a rotating mirror, thus generating one line of the IR scene at a time, with an available integration time (or noise bandwidth) determined by
the system line time, and the image is formatted by the subsequent off-focal plane electronics.
