Thomson-CSF manufactured and marketed the Vidifont, a character
generator for television production, starting in the early 1970s. Originally invented at CBS Laboratories by Stanley Baron,
the technology was licensed to Thomson-CSF, which became a leading supplier of these systems in the 1970s and 1980s.
