ZENITH Electron-Beam Parametric Amplifier Tube
Amplificateur paramétrique à faisceau d'électrons
Elektronenstrahl parametrischen Verstärker

Jointly developed in 1958 by Robert Adler at Zenith Radio Corporation and Glen Wade of Stanford University, the electron beam parametric amplifier (EBPA) was used as a low-noise microwave preamplifier in radar systems (long-range missile detection). It also found uses in radio astronomy, radio-telemetry, satellite and deep-space probe tracking and ranging, and communication systems.
