Fernseh AG (Bosch abbreviation “FESE”) was founded in 1929 with the participation of Robert Bosch GmbH, Baird Television Ltd., London, Zeiss-Ikon, Dresden, and D.S. Loewe, Berlin. The main purpose of the company was “the manufacture and distribution of all types of television sets.” By 1939, all Bosch partners had left Fernseh AG, and the company was converted into a limited liability company (GmbH) in line with its parent company. In 1972, it became Robert Bosch Fernsehanlagen GmbH until 1986, when it has been incorporated into a joint venture with Philips, Broadcast Television Systems (BTS), from which Bosch later withdrew completely.
