CV67 Reflex Klystron, Velocity Modulated Oscillator
Klystron reflex

The CV67 was the second design of reflex klystron developed in the UK in the 1940s, derived from the “Sutton tube” NR89. The interaction gap was reduced in both distance and diameter to improve coupling with the electron beam, and the electron gun was redesigned to simplify focusing. This new design offered low sensitivity to electrode voltage variations. The series comprised three models: CV35, CV36, and CV67, which differed only in their frequency and resonator diameter.

The CV67 was used during WW II in the first airborne, ground scanning radar system H2S MKII and in the ASV (Air-to-Surface Vessel) Mark III radar system used by RAF Coastal Command.
